Just for the US citizens to think about.

I am a natural born US citizen but I have traveled, in my job, to numerous other countries. I presently live in the Philippines (for the past 6 years).
Most people never get the opportunity to see other countries as I have, so please allow me to give you my humble opinion.
Let's start with KSA (Saudi Arabia), a place that does not allow any type of weapon. Before the first time I went there I was told by the person making the arrangements to take off my necklace and cross, that I have worn my whole life, because any Christian sign "can get you killed there". On the way back to the airport, a three hour night drive across the desert, my driver asked if he could stop for his prayers, and then asked me "are you Muslim?" I told him I was a Catholic. He replied "all Christians will go to hell", and went in to say his prayers (leaving me in the car by myself).
Amsterdam, where public smoking is very frowned upon. In the airport (or outside), smoking is not allowed. If you want to smoke you have to walk to a glass room at either end of the very big airport, walk in the room, close the glass door and stand with numerous other people smoking, much like animals on display. However, you can leave the airport and walk 15 minutes and buy legal pot and a hooker anywhere.
And last, where I live now, the Philippines. No weapons of any kind allowed by private citizens. No guns (except in your house with a permit -citizens only), no knives (called edged weapons) no matter how small, no "blunt weapons" (like a piece of re-bar or pipe), and self-defense is limited ONLY to stun guns and pepper spray. Most police do not carry their duty weapon home or off duty. There are NO police patrols (vehicle or foot) you call, they come eventually. The PNP (police) only handle crime and the LTO (vehicle police) only handle vehicle laws, and the LTO only work Monday through Friday 8-5. Private security guards are everywhere, mostly young men and women, in uniforms, with nice new empty holsters. HOWEVER, the Muslim rebels have a really nice army that waves the ISIS flag and carries the latest and greatest M-16 with launchers. Not to be out done, there is also the NPA (New Peoples Army-communist rebels) that also has really nice expensive hand weapons like .50 cal. sniper rifles to go with the M-16. No sir, no cheap guns for these two groups. Last, there are the poor mountain bandits that rob travelers. Being poor, most of them carry AK's. All three groups like to kidnap foreigners (like me) for ransom (to buy more nice weapons).
So, my point is very simple......GUARD YOUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WITH YOUR LIFE IF NECESSARY.
Hopefully, I'll be out of this _______ hole within the next 6 months.
