FREE TO GOOD HOME. Male Bloodhound named Ammo. My daughter and son-in-law purchased the dog as a puppy. Located in Pasadena, TX.

2 Year old (DOB 1-25-14) , AKC Registered, Male Neutered, Black & Tan Bloodhound. Up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative, microchipped. Will come with 6 months heartworm prevention, 3 months flea prevention, recent bloodwork, and vet check all good. Good with larger female dogs, a little too rambunctious for smaller animals, has not been around any other male dogs, so unsure of his temperament with them. He is a sweet dog and knows basic commands. Crate trained and house broken. He is mildly food protective, grumbles/growls if you get too close. Has never bitten.

They have contacted a Bloodhound rescue, but they will only take the dog after it has been in a shelter and they didn't want to chance that.
PM me for contact information.

Wow! That dog has been well cared for! :thumbs2: A good looking dog too!

I'd offer to take him in a heartbeat, drive down to Houston, and take him off your hands, if I didn't already have 2 rescue dogs. Really would.

I hope you find him a loving home soon. :tiphat:

Thanks, Joe. He's from a good breeder up near Austin I think. We're about to lose our old rescued Golden Retriever to lymphoma, but we also have a 14 year old chihuahua and a 13 year old Jack Russell mix, so we can't take him. All are house dogs as we have no back yard. He deserves a place to run.

I volunteer for, and rescue dogs for several dog rescues in the DFW area and this isn't right at all. The rescue won't take him until he goes to a shelter? The only time a rescue has to say that is if the dog is a stray. The rescue can't take a stray right away without going through a shelter because that way the owners have a chance to find the dog and reclaim it. A rescue can't just take stray dogs and rehome them without allowing the owners to have a chance to locate their dog first. Every rescue I volunteer for has owner surrender forms that can be filled out if the OWNER needs to relinquish / rehome their dog. Something smells fishy with this "rescue."

I really hope he finds a loving home soon. He's absolutely beautiful and very obviously been well cared for.

Just tell the wifey you'll let her spoil him as much as she wants. It totally worked for my dad when he brought our German shepherd home.

As for me I've been told one husky and one German shepherd is the equivalent of 4 dogs worth of hair alone and if I dare to bring another pet home I'll be sleeping outside with the lot of them. :rules:

There's a sharp nosed boxer in the bunch. Maybe the mother was a boxer and the father was .... from a good neighborhood! Good looking herd of Boxer dogs.

A gaggle of goofballs! That's a great looking pack. I love that breed. We have a male boxador we rescued almost 6 years ago, and my son has a 85 lb full-bred male boxer.......and one of the gals in our Lifegroup has two boxers. They are great dogs.

Boxer are great dogs. My parents raised them most of my early years. We had several litters of 10 or more puppies and us kids were bottle feeding puppies a lot growing up. Cropped ears were the norm back then and my dad was considered the go to veterinarian for the surgery, not only for Boxers but other breeds as well, Dobs, Great Danes.
