BELTMAN BELT

I bought a BELTMAN belt about the time they changed ownership. I was also at my heaviest when I purchased the belt. I have gone through the seven holes and was complicating making an eight hole when I noticed that all seven holes have developed cracks in the outside leather at all four “ corners” of each hole and at the last two holes on the inside. Anyone else have this experience? I have worn this belt everyday since it’s purchase and I carry 99.9 % of the time. Otherwise, I have been very happy the the belt.

I have 4 different DM Bullard belts that I love - I'm not a belt hoarder, I have them Brown and Black, in 2 different widths each to accommodate various pant types. I bought a Beltman belt after a recent weight loss to try them out. Didn't love it as much as my DM Bullards. The Bullards just seem more substantial, and just feel better to me.

I have several belts from the Beltman in fact the new Bison belt arrived today. I have zero problems with them. I bet if you email David he will make it good.

Zero problems. Worn every day for many, many years. Great product.

That's been what 6-8 years ago? I'd call it a belt that lasted pretty well. Having also been bigger at a time (about 50 lbs) I know that most times belts are worn tighter, the bigger you are so that contributes to the cracking around the adjustment holes. Not to mention the twist a belt sees as it hugs handles and a gut. (no offense intended, just pointing out the things that accelerate wear)

6-8 years of daily wear equates to about $0.03/day. I'd call it money well spent and buy a new one in the correct size. :thumbs2: :tiphat:

Time does fly...... guess it didn’t seem that long but you are most likely correct. I also live in a relatively dry climate which may have attributed to the cracking. I still highly recommend the BELTMAN BELT. The belt has remained stiff enough to comfortably support even a 5” all steel 1911. This has been a great purchase.

I have had a couple of Beltman Belts and the only issues I had was the 1st one shrunk  and the second one grew :rolll . Seriously though, I have never had an issue with the leather at all. Did have a continued issue with the screws coming loose and falling out but a little locktite took care of that.

Yeah, I’ve had to replace a couple chicago screws. No biggie.

Made me think, I have Latigos attaching cinches that have been subjected to much more stress and sweat than my belt has and they have not cracked. I may shoot David an email and ask his opinion. I don’t want to be unfair. As I have said, great belt in all other aspects.
