Well if I don't do anything to it , the old gal is set with 150 grain Remington cor lock ammo to be 3 inchs high at 100 and it 2 1/2 low at 200. The Irons are set dead on at 30 yards!

Sounds like the ideal point-and-shoot setup! That's kind of how I've tried to set up mine.Deltaboy wrote:Well if I don't do anything to it , the old gal is set with 150 grain Remington cor lock ammo to be 3 inchs high at 100 and it 2 1/2 low at 200. The Irons are set dead on at 30 yards!
We'll continue praying for your wife.

It's a perfect deer rifle. Even with 120 years to ponder the design and amazing advances in technology in the interim, we're still looking for essentially the same rifle.
I would argue that there are better deer guns available today, but only in the sense that they build upon the fundamental idea of a 336 or 1894 with the ballistic profile of a .30 WCF with a 170 gr hacketed hollow point.
Awesome gun, and thanks for sharing.

Handling this rifle brings me a level of comfort, warmth and confidence like few others except my 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge.
