AR quad fore end probably dumb question
OK.. so i just got a Diamondback DB15CCB AR15. Looks like a great build. It has a machined aluminum free floating quad rail handguard. https://diamondbackfirearms.com/collect ... 0101576204 All 4 picatinny rails are full length. Man that thing would make a wonderful cheese grater for 200# cheese blocks and it put on a spindle would probably be good for planing down wood planks. (can you tell this is my first quad Picatinny rail gun?) So I have found rubber covers for the rails themselves. Is there a rubber type accessory I can buy to fill the space between the rails so I end up with a smoothish, round-ish outer surface or do I just need a different hand guard?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Somebody may sell them but I bet a full set costs more than a basic hand guard.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I thought the OP was asking about something like this
I have these on mine and you can even cut off the parts you don't need for a spot where an accessory is mounted if you want.

This is what I put on mine. They work great and give a textured grip. Not that expensive. You will need a couple of small screwdrivers to remove them, but they stay in place.

I have this on one of my ARs. I like it. Low profile and does its job.C-dub wrote:I thought the OP was asking about something like this

If you want to go that route, it looks like Primary Arms has both those styles of rail covers on sale now.
Re: AR quad fore end probably dumb question
They are easy to cut and custom to fit your rail. Order extras.

If you don't care about looks, these are on clearance.

Wouldn't that kinda prevent some or a lot of the heat dissipation properties of having many air gaps and keep the barrel hotter longer?

Re: AR quad fore end probably dumb question
I always wondered why people pay extra for quad rails and then pay more for rail covers.

Thanks!
They don’t completely fill the space between the rails, but they fill it enough that the effect is the same. I have a M16A4 replica that I built a few months ago, and I used the authentic Knights Armament rail system and covers, and it works pretty well. The covers are native to any pic-rail, so they should work on your handguard.

Here’s what those rail covers look like on my rifle:
Hope that helps. I think it will.
