Yes. Elmer Ballance started Springfield armory and then sold it to the Reese family who moved it to Illinois. He still resides in Devine Texas. The earlier m1a barrels were stamped Devine Texas. They are known as the Devine M1A and they go for some good money.
And as a side note I picked up a Springfield M21 today
