FN FNAR

I am looking at adding a 308 to my safe. And am wondering if anyone has any personal experience with the FNAR other than what in on the blogs and magazine reviews?

FN makes good stuff. I read that this semi-auto is accurate as a bolt rifle.

Mags are expensive. I've got a Nikon scope mounted on mine and the gun more than exceeds my capabilities. Its accurate enough that out of 5 rounds it can leave a single hole that can be covered with a nickel @200 yards, and my friend's could leave a hole that could be covered by a penny.

They are not the prettiest rifle on the block, but I have heard their accuracy is top notch. And yeah, the mags are expensive.

Ive seen the price on the mags, and they are a little high. But then again this is not my AR so I don't really see the need for a dozen mags, maybe just 1 spare. I'm looking at a package deal w/ 20" heavy barrel, harris bipod, and Leupold Mark4 4.5X14X50mm for about $2500.00

Brad if new, that price is like MSRP. $1250 is a fair price a FNAR, the Mark 4 is expensive glass, $1000+. Bipod is like 1 $100. Mounting rings are like $100 for a nice set.

Ive done a little looking around and priced everything they have on it, as a package or everything on its own price is about the same. They have had this setup for sale for about a month that I know of. Might tell them I will get it if they throw in an extra mag. Worst they could say is no and I get it some where else. Have also been looking at a few different AR10 setups and the Springfield M1A. Springfield is right at the same price but a quality AR10 platform seems to run a little higher.

I shoot with a guy in League City that has one. Very good accuracy but like someone said the mags are expensive. FN does make good equipment.
