Great advice thanks.

Classicarms.us has a new 1960 Polish model 1960 milled AK-47 that looks decent but a $699 price tag to match.

You can get them cheap at the gun show.
Man, just missed that one down in Houston. I'll check out the one in January and I think there's one in Conroe sometime soon too. Thanks.

We are in Alvin and I wasn't driving to T.C. just to get a price that they could give me over the phone. Must have been morons that day.
I agree. I experienced the worst customer service of my life in that establishment. I would not take their AK for free.

^^^ +1 jbird.

elite personnel (owner and wife!) are rude and abrasive, I wouldn't waste my time in there and the prices are high especially ammo.
at least the last time I was in there with a friend who no longer goes there either!

In my opinion they should go back/stick to radio sales... :cheers2:

I don't care for that shop either...just a bad personal experience there too. Quoted one thing over the phone drive ALL the way across town to get told nope I didn't say that...okay see ya like NEVER again then.

check out Tomball Pawn. i've purchased 2 handguns there and both times they've beaten the competition by $50+ on the price and their guys in the firearms dept are very helpful. i was in there just last month but don't recall seeing an AK47, but i'm sure they have them. http://www.tomballpawn.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; phone # is on their web site, they'll tell you what they have in stock and give prices and everything.

Collector's Firearms is another place that sells AKs but they're priced a bit high compared to what i've seen elsewhere. and good luck getting someone to help you. i went in there last month looking to get an M1 Garand for my dad as a Christmas present and asked a salesman if he could help me pick one out (i didn't know anything about the Garand). he told me if i didn't know anything about the gun then i had no business buying one. haven't been back there since.

i think there's another gun show at the George R Brown coming up in a few weeks, there were AKs all over the place at the gun show earlier this month, although most of the cheaper ones i saw were Romanian WASRs. one guy even had an AK that he claimed was .223, didn't know they made em that small. the WASRs were going for $400-ish, but i wasn't too impressed with the quality of any that i saw.

Tomball Pawn has a lovely selection of boom sticks large and small. They are really patient and friendly too. Also there is a gun show coming up in the Conroe area at the Lone Star Expo Feb 26th (High Caliber Gun and Knife Show).
