Well I already have a .22lr. So I was really looking for something with a little more oommph. This would also be for SD. I want something a little special though too. I have thought about the mp-5 too. Seems to be a hard item to locate.

If you're looking at 9mm PCCs for home defense, have you checked out the semi auto Uzi varients? Or if you're not a fan of those, I know there are some semi auto sterlings and stens out there as well.OrangeAnimal wrote:Well I already have a .22lr. If you just want a 9mm carbine, here's a Hi Point that I built some time back. Fun to shoot and fun to build. Somewhat less expensive.

Are there any magazine options out there besides the 10 rounders? I've heard that people like theirs, that they're good for the money etc but 10 rounds only kind of turns me off of them.Ol Zeke wrote:If you just want a 9mm carbine, here's a Hi Point that I built some time back. I'm a big AR fan, but I personally wouldn't build a pistol-caliber one. I'd prefer to have a carbine designed around that cartridge instead. Would most likely be significantly cheaper as well.

They say they don't fit the ATI Stock shown. They didn't tell me that back when I got mine and I had to work them over to make them fit (and work well).

Yes I have considered the Sterling. There is one at a place down the road for sell. Looks like fun to shoot.
