Ruger American rifles

Just picked up my new rifle and got it sighted in and really like the way it shoots. Ruger American 7mm-08 Compact with Nikon 4x12x40 Prostaff BDC. Sighted it in at 200 yards and it is dead on the money. Wife got the full size rifle on Black Friday with the same scope and sighted it in at the same distance. I chose the Compact for everday truck carry and I don't think I will be disappointed with this rifle.

If anyone is looking for a reasonably priced rifle this is the way to go. Could tell no difference in recoil between rifles and both are a pleasure to shoot. Will get to push the distance on these rifles on coyotes after the first of the year and will see how the rifles compare at 400 to 500 yards.

I think either of these rifles would make a fine addition to anyone's collection. One of the best shooters I have picked up in a long time.

+1 for the Ruger's American. Too much value for your money. I did not shoot one, but I manipulated one at Cabelas' and it looks and feel value for your money.

My wife bought me one earlier in the year, in .30-06. I put a Redfield Revolution 3-9x42mm on it in Warne medium rings. Also, Ruger sent me the free butt-cuff/cheek-rest for it, and I put a slip-on recoil pad on it, too. For a light-weight rifle, its pretty manageable. I've only gotten it out to the range a couple of times, so I'm not used to it enough to speak of the accuracy yet. But it seems like a real winner, especially for the price.

Have SS 243 77 ruger haven"t looked at any of the new entry level rifles all the companies are coming out with but most seem to be pleased with them and your left with a good chunk of change for scope and ammo.

Dropped 5 hogs and 4 coyotes today with this rifle. Longest shot on hog 362 yards and longest shot on coyote 394 yards both measured with rangefinder. I think I will keep it.
