Doesn't ANYBODY sell .410 2 1/2" "00" Buckshot???!!!

I can only find "000" with only 3 pellets.....and #4s

But want "00" for my Taurus Judge....doesn't ANYONE on the web sell it??

Only 3 pellets in "000" seems like not enough to get a wider pattern, but with good knockdown power too.

I was thinking that "00" (being slightly smaller shot) would have 5 or 6 pellets..No?

Doesn't ANYONE on the web sell it??

HELP, Please!

I think the problem is the constraining width of the .410 shotshell. A 00 shot pellet is .33 inches, and a 000 is .36 inches. The barrel of a .410 is, yep, .410 inches in diameter. As skinny as the .410 shell is, you can't stack in any more 00 shot in a shell than you can 000. The 3-inch shell allows you get 5 shot pellets in of either 00 or 000; the 2.5" shell allows 3 pellets.

Don't trust what I say about a .410 bore. I've never owned one.

A real expert will come along shortly and answer your questions.

In the meantime, going off the Winchester Shot Shell site, my guess would be 10 pellets in a 2 1/2" #4 shell. The #4 buck is 21 pellets to the ounce, and the 2 1/2" #4 shell contains 1/2 oz. of shot.

Here's one of Jeff Quinn's reviews of The Judge and using shot in it.

Take a look at (Graf and Sons) http://www.grafs.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; website. They carry quite an assortment of .410 ammo.

Also, they may have more not listed.

They were my source for FMJ .17cal HMR rounds.

Every local source carried a variety of brands, but all were polymer tipped.

Not what I wanted...

I've been looking for the same thing for my Judge. Far as I can tell 3 pellets is all you get from a 2 1/2" 410 shell. Guess that'll have to do.
