Neat! Sure beats the old lace on leather comb and cheek pieces. I still havean old one made by Schoellkopf "Black Sheep Brand". . I've been think about putting it on the 1965 Marlin 336 Texan I got when my dad passed away.

I assume that's the one you were telling me about last Saturday at the range? It looks like it ought to work well for you. I actually wasn't uncomfortable with the stock on my gun, but I'd like to try yours the next time we do that and see if I think I would want to get one of those pads. Do they make a left-handed version?

AndyC wrote:... I can close my eyes, mount the gun and look right through the ghost-ring ...... A lot tactical shotguns these days come with rifle or ghost-ring sights - and the manufacturers don't raise the comb to compensate for the need to get the eye higher to look through the sights so this is a great, inexpensive fix.
You mean you are supposed to aim those things?
I thought all you have to do is wave that boomstick in the general direction of anyone needin' shootin', touch off the trigger, and send those pills down the tube where they magically disperse into a cloud of bad-guy seeking pellets. No need to aim, that is why the technical term is "scatter gun".

That's a nice HD rig there Andy. I like the velcro shell holder. I never thought of using velcro for that application. I think I'm going to add that to mine. Much better than the stretch over the stock elastic ones. Thanks for the idea!!

That's a pretty neat setup - I haven't seen a tear away shell holder before.
What is the benefit over the usual plastic ones? I'm assuming it's to have several 'strips' pre-loaded that can be swapped out as needed?
