While it looks good and I like it, I just couldn't bring myself to drill holes in my nice Walnut stock, so I went with one of these:

I soooooooooo couldn't drill holes in my wood stock either :eek6

I've been thinking about a cheek-rest and may look into that Blackhawk you linked to.

I have to say, at the time I did it, I measured 20 times, and still almost couldn't bring myself to do it. My only consolation was that if I totally screwed it up, I could always buy another stock just like it and start over.

I own a Karsten like TAM does (good taste, TAM  ), but for those of you that don't want to drill/modify your stock, here you go:

You're welcome :tiphat:

I use a foam pad cheek rest that velcros around the stock - very efficient.

Good Post!

I've been wondering what I could use to do the same thing. I have a CZ 455 Varmint in 17 HMR that needs this. Thanks guys.

Flint.

Awesome idea to use self-adhesive bandage and moleskin.

I just bought a Howa 1500 multicam and only complaint (as with every rifle I looked at) is the cheek weld is low. I was thinking I could use the black pipe insulation I have but did not want to use regular tape or glue. As an aside: I firmly believe the firearm manufactures do that because they're in cahoots with the accessory manufactures. :hurry: :cheers2:
