has passed legislation which includes provisions for reciprocity. The AG will now determine and publish a list of states that are determined to be acceptable...
The legislation is going to the governor who is expected to sign it.
I believe but am not sure, that the effective date is 90 days after the legislature concludes. Shortly thereafter I guess we will know if Texas meets their standards...

Re: Nebraska
For grins and giggles, I penned and posted the following letter to the Attorney general of Nebraska. Wouldn't hurt for a few others to follow suit. I will let you know if I get a reply

Dear Sir,
Congratulations on your new “Shall Issue” concealed handgun license law. It is a giant step in the right direction. The reality is that criminals no longer fear the police, the justice system, nor prison. It is about time they feared their possible victims. We have had such a law here in Texas for over a decade now and it has worked out wonderfully.
Such a law not only benefits those who actually intend to carry a handgun, but also those who don’t. Grandma need only give a stern look at a potential predator and reach deep into her purse to now give said predator cause to pause. Does Grandma have hold of her (A) car keys, (B) whistle, (C) can of mace, or (D) revolver? He now knows a wrong guess could be career ending. It also puts criminals, in general, on notice that there are people willing to carry a gun and shoot their criminal posterior should they become a threat to them. About dang time! Bravo Corn Huskers!
When do you suppose the great State of Nebraska is scheduled to enter into a reciprocity agreement with Texas, or place them on their list of approved out of state licenses? I would love to put Nebraska on my approved vendor list (based on residence in a “shall issue” state) and places to visit and spend money list.
Sincerely,
Your name here
