We should hunt up the specific wording on that. My memory (such as it is...) doesn't recall the verbage specifying that if you have a Texas CHL you have to present it. Just if you have a CHL. I will follow the laws of the state I am carrying in to the best of my ability, and if Texas requires that I display to the LEO my CHL, I will do so whether it is from Texas or not. Just my humble opinion, pending finding/posting the verbage of the statute.

In other words, if I were carrying under Utah permit, I would display when/if asked for identification by a Texas LEO. True, he may not be able to ascertain the fact I have a Utah permit when running my driver's license or whatever, but better safe than sorry. I realize there is no penalty now for failure to present, but it is a requirement.

Again, this is just my opinion. YMMV.

The wording can be found in GC 411.205:
If a license holder is carrying a handgun on
or about the license holder's person when a magistrate or a peace officer
demands that the license holder display identification, the license
holder shall display both the license holder's driver's license or identification
certificate issued by the department and the license holder's
handgun license.
Although this is Texas statute, I see no specific that says you only have to show if carrying under a Texas CHL. While there is no penalty attached, I would not want to quibble with the LEO in performance of his duties.

Got that right.

Utah was cheaper, and more to point in class. I've been through 2 TX CHL classes, and most of it seems to be filler. Neither one is designed to teach you how to shoot. I only keep my Utah now.

I've been stopped twice, and both times presented my TX DL and Utah CHL. Never disarmed and never a ticket. Never even questioned about it.
I've been stopped by Fort Worth and Arlington PD for speeding.

Hopefully the bill to invalidate Texas residents carrying on another states license won't pass this session. If it does, there will be numerous folks, like yourself, who will suddenly be locked into MPA only.
