what signage does Louisiana have like 30.06 ?

I did a lot of searching and can't find anything specific. I'll be in Louisiana soon and I've read their guidelines, esp those pertaining to restaurants that serve alcohol. But do they have to have any signage for a property owner to restrict CHL ?? I thought I read something about the "gun-buster" type but nothing else. Anyone able to help me out ?

There isn't any "regulated" sign like the 30.06 in TX. Any type of no guns sign is valid in LA. You can't carry into a bar, or the bar portion of a restaurant, but you can carry in the restaurant proper. There are also signs that (essentially) create a gun free school zone. If you are within one of those zones you cannot carry, period. However, my understanding is that those gun free school zones don't affect carry in your vehicle; you just can't get out of the car while carrying within them.

As always, IANAL, so it's up to you to verify this information.

Be careful cc'ing anywhere alcohol is served in La. There are conflicting laws and I have yet to meet any LEO that is up to speed on the regs. If you are going to New Orleans be very careful carrying. They have a shoot first ask questions later rep. (I was a NO resident for 30 years)

I'll be in Many, LA - at Toledo Bend for about 4 days ... just wanted to know about having it on me, in my motel or being able to carry to stop in a convenience store or grabbing a burger. Sounds like I'll be okay overall ..

Don't carry into a bar and you'll be fine. You can carry into a restaurant with a bar just don't go into the bar area. I had a LA CWL for yrs

Any and all "No Guns" signs are valid in Louisiana.

In addition, if you're carrying concealed and enter a private residence, you must inform the owner of the residence you are carrying and obtain his permission to enter with your firearm.

A simple "gunbuster" or "No Guns Allowed", etc. or 'you should know better' is all that's required in most states, AFAIK.

We are fortunate to have our very own specific 30.06 sign to guide us away from places where we don't want to do business.

:iagree:

Went over to Shreveport last week to eat and go to Bass Pro Shop on the boardwalk. I've searched it before, even made a call to Shreveport PD. I still don't know if your allowed to carry on the boardwalk. But I did anyway. Louisiana laws don't seem to be as clear as Texas' laws.

The boardwalk is posted. Poorly, but posted.

It's in their "rules" if you come in from the parking garage. I don't know if the rules are posted coming from Bass Pro.
