Reciprocity vs Non-resident permit

I've had my Texas CHL for about 6 months now but so far I haven't done any traveling out of state and I'm confused about what kind of paperwork I do or don't need.

My most likely future destinations would be Arizona for work or Florida for family. I understand Arizona has constitutional carry, so I wouldn't need a permit anyway, but say I travel to Florida, which has reciprocity with Texas. Do I have to apply for a Florida Non-resident permit before I make the trip and have it on me while carrying, or does "Honors a Texas CHL" mean I can just show the Texas CHL to the Florida police if necessary?

I'm no expert, but as far as I know, you don't need any paperwork other than your CHL. Just be aware of the state laws regarding CHLs that you will be traveling through/to, you will have to follow their laws which will be different from Texas laws.

Someone else may come along and give a more thorough answer, but I'm also pretty sure you don't need to apply for non-resident CHLs if they have reciprocity with Texas.

As long as Texas has reciprocity with the state(s) that you are traveling in, just have your CHL.
But as stated above, you need to know the laws of that state. The laws of Texas do NOT go with you.
