I did enjoy the argument one of the pro-gun litigants is using that allowing retired police (but not other regular citizens) to have/carry handguns is a violation of the Constitution's equal protection clauses. Never thought of it that way before, but that actually makes a lot of sense to me.
Heck, in some of the worst anti-RKBA states, all you'd need in theory is a sympathetic sheriff or police chief (perhaps one who is not even in the same state ... Sheriff Joe of Arizona, maybe?) to temporarily deputize anyone who wanted to legally carry. Then, because you're now a former LEO, those anti states would have to let you carry, right?

This guy who wrote this article and his ilk , coupled with the GOP's failings, is what got us our current POTUS.

Very true. I lived out there for three years. Of course, I lived in San Diego, which Californians consider a "conservative" city.Keith B wrote:Folks, not all Californians feel this way.

We have lots of fellow believers in RKBA out on the left coast. But they are always a minority. The left wins most of the elections, not by a whole lot, surprisingly, but they still win, and therefore have all the say.
California is a large state with most of the population centers gathered at the water's edge. Get away from the large cities, and you'd be amazed at the conservatism there. California conservatives are just as radical as California liberals. Much further "right" than your typical conservative Texan. But they are outnumbered.
