Road trip DFW-->Orlando

I'll be taking a trip in a few weeks, driving from DFW to Orlando, to visit the Mouse (Disneyworld). The trip will take me through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and into Florida. Texas has reciprocity with all these states. Any "gotchas" I should be aware of?

I will be reading up on the laws of each state, but wanted to check in here as well.

Thanks.

From another post "We drive to Pensacola quite regularly, and go 20 to Jackson > 49 to Hattiesburg > 98 to Mobile and pick up 10 to Pensacola. Rds. are good, and it's a pretty drive. 49 and 98 are much better than they used to be."

ps: you gotta get through Alabama to get to Fla. and they are getting better, but still kinda cranky.

Not sure if you plan to carry at WDW, but there is apparently no posted signs (I didn't see any when I was there in June anyway.) There are also no metal detectors. They do check bags, and they will refuse entry if you have a weapon, but apparently will let you lock it in your vehicle and return for entry.

I didn't have my CHL in June, but never once felt any reason I would have needed it. The parks are great and Christmas time there is wonderful. Also, if you like riding the rides, I wouldn't want to worrry about my CW being flung off my body. Some of those rides are pretty wild (Rockin' Roller Coaster for one) and it could present a probelm if they have to shut down the ride and go looking for your gun after it falls out of your pants!! :oops:

Enjoy the parks and have a wonderful Christmas!

Oh, I agree with NORTEXED on the route to go. The 49 & 98 are really good now.
