Looks Like Arizona is jumping on the bandwagon to allow CHL holders to carry on K-12 and college campuses. Don't know if it will go anywhere but, as the old saying goes "The longest journey starts with the first step"

"Opponents say police officers urgently responding to a school shooting might have difficulty distinguishing innocent permit-holders from the gunman."

Let me think... Hmmmm . . .

An innocent permit-holder will likely greet the police officers and lay his gun down, while the gunman will likely fire on the officers. Not a difficult distinction, IMHO, but opponents are not necessarily limited to logical/reasonable thought, are they?

:iagree: Police will not get there while the gun fight is going on. The permit holder will be hollerin "HEY< Over here."

I have asked a few of my LEO friends on the local PD. All said it is generally easy enough to tell the diference between the GGs & the BGs just by observation.

My mom is a teacher and I would love for her to be able to carry at work. I am working with her on getting her chl. I think that if she could carry at work it would be a big push for her to get it.

I say bring it on to Texas. It is something that should have been done years ago.

Teachers work in close proximity to potentially violent youths. In the regular world you can keep your distance from dangerous individuals and tell them to keep their distance. Teachers don't have that luxury, and at close range even the most well-trained individual can be overpowered, potentially giving any number of violent teens access to weapons at school. If we only had to worry about external threats, I would whole-heartedly support something like this, but not everyone's children are precious little snowflakes. If we're talking about campus security, perhaps more security personnel would be the answer. I rarely remember seeing the one officer at my High School roaming the halls. More security could prevent other incidents that take place in most schools.

MY wife works as a special ed teacher in a elementary school. She's already had a troubled youth bring a replica weapon to school to "scare" kids, causing a lockdown.

In an Elementary school.

I'll say it again. In an elementary school

It scares the heck out of me that she's got no legal means to defend herself, but if anyone can handle it; she can. At least tat's what I keep telling myself.
