Wonder if the Boulder city council asked their police officers how they would feel about going door to door looking for "assault weapons"?

From the amount of people who have complied so far, it looks like that will be the only way they will get it done. The thing that scares me is that this is a very likely future of things to come over the next 5-10 years.

Gun sales have been down ever since Trump got elected. I think this is a right-wing conspiracy by pro-gun activist to increase gun sales. There are probably more AR15s in Boulder homes today than last year.
How will they know who has them in their homes? Will they start interrogating the children at the government schools? Will they reward via a tips line? or survail recieving shipment from suspected ammo and gun suppliers?

What needs to happen is, the citizens of Boulder need to organize and show up at city council, and inform them that they have been fired and they have until Dec.31st to leave town. Also, any LEO’s that back this council and law can go with them.

But Boulder is not Paris and I don't think that, given the overall Liberal climate in the Boulder area, that there is much chance of any of that happening. Connecticut passed a similar bill several years ago and the registration rate there was as low as what Boulder has experienced. There have been no publicized confrontations over the "illegal" firearms. I don't believe that the politicians in Boulder are more militant than those in CT.
In her book "Atlas Shrugged", Ayn Rand gave an often quoted speech to Dr. Ferris about the easiest way to control people was to make criminals out of them. Where laws weren't broken, new laws meant to be broken were created. The politicians don't have to round up the ARs or magazines. They have turned them all into safe queens that can never see the light of day. And they have created a new class of criminals that are more easily controlled.

But they won't do that out of fear of outing themselves as being non-compliant and exposing themselves to the substantial penalties of the new law
Diabolically clever on the part of the council, no?

I guess that shows that small group in Boston had a lot of “back bone” many moons ago!
Makes you wonder how they walked.

y'all are being really optimistic about Boulder guys....it's basically Berkley, just in Colorado and more beautiful, but it's Berkey.
The article is trying to say that Boulder is going to have the same 34% gun owning population average that the rest of the state has is crazy cakes. Everyone who has lived in the state knows that Boulder is practically 90% Dem while areas like Co Springs is closer to 75% Rep.
Now add to that that the article is trying to say that all 34% own AR's, that's flat out ridiculous.
From what I read in the article they only "have" to register if they own an AR....soooo, if they only own revolvers, or a gatling gun, they are in the clear....lol.
