Heh. I'm about to attend classes there.

They had that poll up on their facebook page but quickly yanked it after I laid out some quick facts on it.
If they (anti's) had any idea how many students there and at the local community college keep guns in their cars, they'd probably faint.
I know of at least 30 fellow classmates (and probably another half dozen professors) at the junior college who keep pistols in their cars, and I know another 20-30 people at UTPB that keep their carry piece in their car or carry while jogging the trail around campus.

Yeah, Permian basin area I wouldn't think would be anti-gun, except those who profess to be educated, but failed to educate themselves in that area.

The jogging trail around campus has signs up everywhere to beware of animals. It is pretty well known that there are coyotes and snakes everywhere. For that reason alone I know a few people who carry around there.
Not too many antis, but as the price of oil increases, our local economy improves, which attracts a lot of out-of-staters. Some of these yuppies are pretty much anti everything, including anti Texas. They just come here to make money during the oil boom then try to tell us how to do everything.
