True, but he still has to answer to people, perhaps after renewing a contract he could...txyaloo wrote:If Dr. Holda were truly for campus carry, he would allow students, faculty, and staff at Kilgore to carry on campus. All it takes is him to say abracadabra for it to be legal.
If he had done this several weeks ago, it might have shown to the antis that their fear mongering was just that.
He still has time to set an example for other schools in Texas, though.
I just asked him to.txyaloo wrote:If Dr. Holda were truly for campus carry, he would allow students, faculty, and staff at Kilgore to carry on campus. All it takes is him to say abracadabra for it to be legal.

His contract is good for at least another year. He actually asked for and took a 10% pay cut in January due to the budget issues. He's also been president at Kilgore for 15 years. I don't think they'd cut ties so quickly over an issue such as this.RPB wrote:True, but he still has to answer to people, perhaps after renewing a contract he could...txyaloo wrote:If Dr. Holda were truly for campus carry, he would allow students, faculty, and staff at Kilgore to carry on campus. A lot of people (including me) were ready to jump down his throat for his initial statements, but he showed the marks of a true educator (someone who loves learning), learned more about the subject, and changed his mind.
What a win by the good guys!![]()
