Another Reason Why I Support Campus Carry

Got an the following email from UT this morning. I walk past this garage every morning on my way to work and sometimes park there. I also read all the time that vehicles are broken in at parking garages so if you have the option to leave your handgun in your car, might want to bolt a safe inside your car so you don't lose your best friend. I might not be able to carry on campus yet, but that still doesn't stop the bad guys.

Around 12:45 a.m., two Hispanic males robbed one of our students at gunpoint near the Brazos garage. No one was hurt. They were headed east on MLK when last seen. The suspects are described as heavy set, one wearing a hat and red shirt, the other wearing a hat and white shirt driving a dark colored Honda Accord.

Please be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity to UTPD at 512-471-4441.

Thanks, I just e-mailed a copy of that to each member on the House Calendars committee and requested they put HB 750 on the calendar before we have an "Amanda Collins" incident, which is absolutely foreseeable if things don't change.
