Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Beto O’Rourke to Black American: Illegal Immigrant Labor Needed for Cotton Gin
Irish Bob Says:
I mentioned going to the high school in Roscoe, I also went to the cotton gin in Roscoe. And at that cotton gin, there are 24 jobs and the manager of that gin says it does not matter the wages that I pay or the number of hours that we set … no one born in Roscoe … or Texas or this country who is willing to work. But there are immigrants who are coming from Central America or Mexico or other parts of the world to Roscoe to work these jobs and to help build our economy. [Emphasis added]
https://www.breitbart.com/video/2018/09 ... otton-gin/

I've help harvest cotton for my buddy for the last 6 or 7 years. They do not have the new fancy baler machines but still use a boll buggy and module builder. It still takes 3 or 4 guys to get a crop in, more if you have multiple builders and machines. Every year for about 2 weeks I work from lunch until stop (sometimes 11 at night) in the heat drinking 2 gallons or more water a day. Every year I've helped, there have been no illegals and the farmers who work the land are working just as hard as the hired hands. Their hands come from all walks and generations. One man is in his 70's and before he retired, like me, would take vacation to work in the fields for extra cash during harvest. He happens to be the same race Irish Bob claims needs to be replaced by illegals because he won't work in the heat for any amount of money even though he has been helping them for 30 plus years. I've been to the gin and saw nobody that looked illegal to me working there. It was hot and noisy but the work is mostly automated now.

Just more talking out his rear.

He nuances his position by saying we can keep our AR15s if we already have one BUT he does not believe we should be able to buy any FUTURE AR15s.
If you like your AR-15, you can keep your AR-15. And there's a nice bridge for sale.

No, but I want Beto to win. I know this forum is 99% straight republican. But, it’s not 100%.

If you like your gun, let me decide. When can we meet?? Please bring em (unloaded), and I will take what I don’t think you should have. This might include your vehicle as well. But I will pay for your Uber home!

Nothing new.

So when does the spanking start.

I would venture to say the leanings of most on this board lean towards being a Constitutionalist or Libertarian. A vote for a democrat is a vote against the Constitution. Sometimes a vote for a Republican is the same thing but most of the time you don't find out until after the election. With Democrats you know what you get.

I will never understand how someone on a handgun forum dedicated to carrying and self defense could vote for a politician who would take that right away with the claim that the police will protect you. Then will run down law enforcement as being racist.

The first debate is tonight as long as Irish Bob does not weasel out. Should be interesting and frustrating at the same time. I should apologize in advance for saying bad words at the TV.

True, y’all are called RINO’s.

Why, so (y)our guns can be taken away? Because you don't believe Harvey victims should get assistance? Your hero Robert (he is no more hispanic than Clinton or Obama so don't call him Beto) voted AGAINST assistance for Harvey victims. Because you think Venezuela is doing so well and we should be just like them? How does any sane, intelligent person say they want him to win?

This is why I am concerned about Californians moving to Texas and changing the political climate here. Even some of the "Republicans" are liberal. I know this doesn't apply to all, so if you are a conservative, please don't take offense.

Liberal doesn't mean what it has come to represent over the past 30 years. Liberalism as the term was used until the 1980s, represented tolerance and limited government intervention in people's lives, and then only for the purpose of defending against the infringement of the rights of another citizen. These days, "liberal" means some combination of socialism and racism/sexism (which is deemed acceptable when directed against white males). Socialism and communism are founded upon an economic thesis that assumes widespread slavery, and they have always agreed upon summary execution of political dissent.

There's nothing "liberal" about socialism.
