"Recently, I voted for the Coburn amendment, which would protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens by allowing them to transport and carry firearms in National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service public lands. This legislation was passed by the House and Senate and was signed into law today. Below are my remarks during debate of the Coburn amendment on the House floor.
‘I can't think of any bad time to stand up for the Second Amendment rights of our citizenry. Again, it appears to me that one lone, perhaps rogue Federal judge has tried to put a dent into the Second Amendment rights of our citizens.’
‘I was happy in the last Congress to introduce H.R. 5434, the Protecting Americans from Violent Crime Act, which would have taken care of this issue. Again, this is a bedrock principle embedded in our Constitution. The citizens need to have their right to keep and bear arms protected, even on Federal property, particularly when incidences of violence at Federal parks has shown increases, upticks. But regardless, we cannot allow the Constitution of the United States to be amended in such an unconstitutional fashion.’
Whether one uses a firearm for hunting, sport shooting, personal protection, or another lawful reason, the Second Amendment clearly protects our individual right to keep and bear arms.
I appreciate having the opportunity to serve you in the United States House of Representatives.
Yours respectfully,
Congressman Jeb Hensarling

I got the same e-mail. Jeb is one of 435, perhaps he can persuade the others of the error of their ways and thinking.
Re: a letter from congressman Hensarling
How would I find out if my own representative, Joe Barton, supported the National Park Law, and others?

We are all lucky to have a guy like Jeb in the Texas delegation in D.C.
