I don't believe Holder and Obama didn't know about this debacle. Government employees do not jeopardize their pensions with acts like this without the upper echelon's blessing and cover. Surely to goodness, Holder and Obama wouldn't lie about their involvement?

I hope the next administration recovering the reins of government from the current regime in Jan. 2013 has the fortitude to prosecute him. Hopefully, they get evidence now of him lying under oath to Congress so that they can include perjury charges.

They routinely lie about everything else, why wouldn't they lie about their involvement? Just business as usual in the Obama Administration.

What makes this so "funny" to me is how there must be a central distribution center in the Administration that all of them must make contact with every morning so that they have the "talking points" (LIES) of the day to spew out every chance they get. Every one of them saying the same thing!

:iagree: and if they did not seek his blessing what was their reason? Do they not feel that Holder is capable/qualified for the job thus feel they cannot inform him of things such as this? Either way it appears he has just admitted that he cannot control his subordinates and if he cannot do that how can he perform his duties properly?

It would be nice if we could keep them from communicating for a week and see how their stories differ.

Is he that incompetent that he knew nothing that was going on around him or is he just that stupid? Either way it is an indictment against him.

According to C-SPAN, both Holder AND Obama knew about it: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/MexicoBor.

Here is a condensed version of the C-SPAN video from YouTube. It starts at about 14:00 of the original video, and pay special attention to :40 into it:

In the original video, the speaker says that they are undertaking this effort specifically under Obama's direction. Janet "The Toad" Napolitano is standing on stage with the speaker. There is NO WAY that Holder didn't know about this. NO WAY. If he didn't know about it, then he can't even be trusted to tie his own shoes, let alone act as AG for the United States of America. His denial is not only not plausible, it is an outright lie, as proved by the video record. Period.

Ummmm, if the Obama and Holder knew nothing of this operation, then I sure hope they fired Deputy AG David Ogden for using their names during a press conference, covered on C-Span, from an official White House press room. Not only did they direct this operation, they used $10 million of "recovery funds" to make this happen. It's a short video but puts serious doubt on Holder's story.

If i were elected, this would be near the top of my list of things to do on inauguration day.
Right after I issued an executive order to stay Obamacare and introduce legislation to repeal it.

IMO, Holder and his ilk are guilty of failure to enforce the law, enforcing the law selectively for political gain and the flagrant commission of crimes in both the US and against Mexico for this F&F debacle. Holder, et.al. are "Accessories before the fact" in the death of Agent Brian Terry as well as thousands of Mexican citizens.

He is either lying or admitting incompetence, either way he needs to go. The rule of law seems to be fading in this country. The next Administration should not let this incident fade. Someone, probably several someones, needs to be held accountable for the murders that Fast and Furious caused. Holder would be an excellent start.

On Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder said for the first time that not only he but also other higher-ups at the Justice Department were not aware of the operation as it was being carried out.
I think here is his slight of hand, he was aware it was in action but not aware how the action was happening(Plausible deniability). More double talk.

From Fox news:

Evidence Suggests Cover-Up in ATF Scandal, as More Guns Appear at Crime Scenes
By William La Jeunesse & Laura Prabucki
Published September 02, 2011
FoxNews.com
Just hours after the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, federal officials tried to cover up evidence that the gun that killed Terry was one the government intentionally helped sell to the Mexican cartels in a weapons trafficking program known as Operation Fast and Furious.
...
Also late Thursday, Sen. Charles Grassley's office revealed that 31 more Fast and Furious guns have been found at 12 violent crime scenes in Mexico.

In an internal email the day after Terry's murder, Assistant U.S. Attorneys Emory Hurley and then-U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke decided not to disclose the connection, saying "this way we do not divulge our current case (Fast and Furious) or the Border Patrol shooting case."

Grassley, R-Iowa, and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Thursday they are expanding their investigation into the scandal. In a strongly worded letter to Anne Scheel, the new U.S. attorney for Arizona, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee requested interviews, emails, memos and even hand-written notes from members of the U.S. attorney's office that played key roles in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) program.
It seems obvious to me that Obama, who marinated in Chicago's culture of corruption and gangster politics, is pretty comfortable in that environment. Because he is comfortable in it, he doesn't seem to appreciate how deeply corrupt, opaque, and fundamentally unAmerican it is, both in its bureaucracy and in its control of a skewed media. Neither does he seem to appreciate that it took more than 100 years to get to that point. What he seems to fail to see and understand about that is that as pungent as DC's culture is, Chicago's seems shockingly so by comparison—even to longtime beltway insiders. So he seems genuinely surprised at the backlash his crapulence generates.....as if he seriously expects that the rest of the world does business that way. Consequently, he is surprised when, even in as jaded an environment as DC's is, his incompetence and the thuggery of his minions keeps getting exposed.

It's almost as if having been politically successful in Chicago should be an automatic disqualifier for national office because you are functionally unable to operate in a democracy and psychologically unable to understand accountability to The People.

Holder was appointed AG for one reason and one reason only.
