Re: Executive Privilege for Fast and Furious docs
I believe that Obama has good cause to invoke executive privilege. I believe that the president and his administration knew all about this operation and were supporting it.
We spent a good deal of 2011 hearing about how 90% of the traceable guns recovered in Mexico were from the U.S. and the liberal media was calling for a renewal of the assault weapons ban to help our southern neighbors. President Obama told the president of Mexico that he supported renewal of the assault weapons ban and tighter gun control on our side of the border but that "the political climate was not right".
My personal belief is that the Obama administration was intentionally dumping guns into Mexico, not so that they could catch gun runners, but so that those weapons could be traced back to the U.S. and used as evidence as a need to develop a new assault weapons ban and tighter restrictions here. Call me a conspiracy theory nut. That's okay, I can take it.
Ultimately, the operation blew up in their face after some federal officers were murdered, and oddly, all those stories about U.S. guns in Mexico dried up.
If I were Obama, I would invoke executive privilege and have my staff give the shredding machine a good workout.

I have been silently watching it, expecting that someday someone will come forward to explain that there is more to the concept of executive privilege than executive wrongdoing.
The postings here, including the language quoted above, prove once again that three ancient adages remain viable. First, if an untruth is stated often enough it hardens into accepted fact. Secondly, when those untruths are repeated within a group, appealing to that group's common builtin beliefs, they soon become accepted by that group as being held by an overwhelming majority of persons, even those not in the group. Lastly, when a rational rebuttal is unavailable, change the subject.

EDITED TO PROVIDE "SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION"...
You know what I can feel, more and more? The palpable fear running through the left, that no matter what stunts their crew pulls, they are going to lose this election. And they are getting desperate...the moves become more and more twisted, the rhetoric becomes hotter and hotter, and the denouncement of whoever doesn't agree with their "Hope and Change/Forward vision" is evil, or stupid, or racist or whatever phrase the left wants to paint them with, gets more and more shrill, especially in the so-called "free press". The house of cards is coming down, no matter how many cool the logos they made have had on the back of them...
And I submit the following as evidence:

Re: Executive Privilege for Fast and Furious docs
Q: what do you call the "Bill of Rights" after a second Obama term?
Wait for it...
A: "The Bill of Lefts"
Or, maybe, "The Bill of What's Left"

A: "The Bill of Lefts"
Or, maybe, "The Bill of What's Left"
Range Rule: "The front gate lock is not an acceptable target."
Never Forget.

I don't watch Leno, but saw it replayed this morning. He wanted to make sure that people understood that a committee voted to hold Holder "In contempt of Congress" is different than the rest of us having "Contempt for Congress." I thought it was a funny line.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Just a couple of thoughts, though I know all of this wayeeee above my pay-grade:
Fast & Furious Documents? Suggestion: Convince someone with the NY Times to ask for them and we’ll have ‘em before the day is out.

Executive Privilege? With all of the blatant ‘shredding’ of the Constitution by this administration and this is the first issue prompting it’s use! ?

I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.
