Austin wants to ban gun shows

Well just using official oppression to coerce gun shows out of one building ain't enough for Austin anymore. Now the city (and Travis County, apparently) want to ban gun shows completely from Austin/Travis County jurisdiction.

Send the shows up here to Williamson County where rights are respected, I say.

You have to swallow a lot of lefty, nanny state garbage to live here. This place is in desperate need of right-mindedness.

Interesting related story ... a Connecticut police chief now just refuses to issue gun show permits because he thinks it makes his constituents "feel safer"

Kingsland/Buchanan Dam shows would grow if Austin banned them.

Chicago and Mexico don't have gun shows. This must be their aim.

I used to live there. It's a liberal Mecca.
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

The slogan "Keep Austin Weird" should be changed to "Keep Austin Left Wing"

They don't need a slogan, they do a good job of that anyway.

Yup. I thought I was moving from Conservative San Diego, CA to Texas, but found I ended up in the Texas equivalent of Berkeley, CA instead. Very liberal.

The biggest difference between Austin and Berkeley is people in Austin like to play at being weird but they turned pro in Berkeley.

The second is UCB has a prettier campus. :evil2:

So glad I moved back to east Texas (after being in Austin 24 years). Austin sucks. Aside from being the most liberal city in Texas, it's also not the live music capital anymore by any means, and now this. Don't miss it a bit.
