At least two people have been shot Thursday at a high school in Taft, CAlif., KERO-TV reports.

The condition of the victims was not immediately clear.

The shooter was taken into custody at Taft High School around 9 am. local time, says KERO, which reports that it got a tip on the shooting from people hiding in closets inside the school.

yet again, a young individual committing a crime. Also, in a state that has one of the strictest gun laws. According the chron.com, a shotgun was used.

For background.... Taft is a pretty small town located in what is called "The Chorizo Plains" southwest of Bakersfield. It's pretty hardscrabble land. I've ridden a motorcycle through it a few times, and the last time I was there it had one of the last A&W Rootbeer stands still operating in California. It's a pretty barren oil patch, and I don't think there are too many millionaire homes there.

KRTK in houston posted this story on their facebook page and everyone is bashing them for it.

:lol::

- why didnt you guys report on the shooting in San Antonio a few weeks ago?? oh yeah that s right its because the criminal was shot by an off duty cop that had a personal gun on them and they stopped him from shooting anymore people,,,, if your going to be a News organization the report all the News not just the one that fits your political agenda,,,,im am unfriending you ,,, and will not watch you station anymore,,,,,

- Stop fear mongering. 60,000,000 gun owners didn't kill anybody today. Where is the breaking news on that.

The next report out of California will probably be that the "Shotgun" miraculously turned out to be an AR-15 and he had 2 Pistols as well with over 10 round "clips". :banghead:

Seriously though, the local Sheriff (in a news broadcast) confirmed the shooter was a student at the school and he wounded two other students.
