Carter's micro-management and complete ineptitude was pretty terrible.
Remember ~20% interest rates on mortgages? Inflation? Double digit unemployment?
His legacy was shined up by the Camp David Accords, for which he certainly deserve substantial credit.

However inept, Carter never approached the outright thuggery and dishonor of the Obama administration.
Carter was incompetent. Obama is evil. BIG difference.

IG report: ‘Corrective actions have not been fully implemented’
7:39 PM 05/14/2013
The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration report released Tuesday, reveals that the IG believes the issues raised have not been fully resolved.

The hotly anticipated report delves into the fact that the IRS singled out conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status for enhanced scrutiny, delayed their applications and burdened groups with unnecessary requests, including donor information.

According to the report, Acting Deputy Inspector General for Audit Michael E. McKenney believes the issues has not been completely corrected.

“Nine recommendations were made to correct concerns we raised in the report, and corrective actions have not been fully implemented,”

White house was aware of IRS abuse of conservative groups for a long time, and didn't do anything about it: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/car ... 24455.html

And in a scathing indictment of Jay Carney's personal sense of integrity:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/car ... 24451.html
Carney: Just Because IRS Apologized Doesn't Mean They Did Anything Wrong
1:34 PM, MAY 14, 2013 • BY DANIEL HALPER
We need the independent inspector general's report to be released before we can make judgments. One person's view of what actions were taken or what that individual did is not enough for us to say something concretely happened that was innapropriate," said Carney.
Why on earth would the IRS apologize for their actions, if those actions were not wrong?

Carney is a total tool, and he has joined the ranks of other current and former administration tools who are downright un-American. In no particular order of venality and evil:
  • Jay "I don't know wrong when I see it" Carney (Press Secretary)
  • Rahm "never waste a crisis" Imanuel (former Chief of Staff)
  • Valerie "Shadow President" Jarrett (behind the scenes presidential advisor)
  • Eric "what guns?" Holder (Attorney General)
  • Tim "you actually expect me to pay my taxes?" Geitner (Treasury Secretary)
  • Andrew "ban 'em all" Traver (stalled nomination for BATF Director )
  • Elizabeth "I liked about my ancestry to gain unfair advantage" Warren (former Special Advisor for Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and current MA Senator)
  • List of Obama Administration officials who are/were also registered lobbyists: http://www.opensecrets.org/obama/rev.php
There are others, and of course that list does not include the Kleptocrat in Chief. These people lie so much and with such suppleness and fluency, and without any apparent pangs of conscience at all, that I don't think they actually know most of the time what is true and what isn't. Their moral compasses are so far off gimbal that they probably actually believe their own lies. It's pathological.

Heard an interview on KTRH this morning from Texas Tea Party (TTP) saying they had been audited. More disturbing than the actual oppression factor on tax enforcement was the obvious political slant.

Texas Tea Party said IRS wanted to know their donor lists! If TTP knew anything else about the donors. What other groups they belonged to. If any of them were running for office.

Obviously compiling an enemies list at the individual level.

Am I the only one that feels that of the four ongoing scandals (F&F, Benghazi, IRS, AP), this AP issue is the least problematic from a legal standpoint?
Someone was leaking highly classified information to AP and Justice (FBI) was investigating the leak. Even if they went overboard, they had standing to investigate.

Now, I''m more than happy for any reason that might cause the press to finally wake up to this administrations running roughshod over the Constitution, but I'm particularly amused that they picked the least egregious violation (IMO) to whine the most about.

It is the one that affects them the most and hits them in a sensitive spot. Anything to wake up the press though.

I'm sorry for my ignorance, I don't know how to post a link on here. But if you go on Youtube and search for "Jon Stewart Destroys Obama Over IRS", this is the funniest thing I've seen in a while...especially considering how much of a behind kisser Jon Stewart is to Obama.

I thought about posting this as a separate thread, but it really fits in here....

It looks like there may be even more to this. Was there a double standard on scrutiny depending on type of application for tax-exempt status????

While IRS officials attributed the agency's heavy scrutiny on conservative groups to the spike in applications over the past few years, fresh reports and figures are raising questions about whether the agency knowingly applied a double standard.

A highly anticipated watchdog report, released late Tuesday by the inspector general's office, depicted an even bigger spike in applications for tax-exempt status from a type of group that includes labor organizations. Yet, according to the report, the conservative groups were the ones singled out for special treatment.

Knew about it? Ha ha ha.....the White House initiated it. They may have been cagey enough to use a cutout, but stuff like this is just SOP for the Chief Thug.

USA today says after one Tea Party approval that took 90 days, with no questions, no other Tea Party groups were approved for 27 months....while prog groups had no problems.
