As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

8/29 Opportunity for counter-protesting in North Houston?

Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" is supposedly throwing one of their last-minute-announced astroturf events at 6pm today Thursday Aug 29th ( http://www.examiner.com/article/bloombe ... gun-owners" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) at Gene Green's North Houston office.

MAIG's press release gives a wrong address for the office ("206 North Sam Houston Parkway"; google that quoted phrase to see the press release; one of them is here at http://www.sacbee.com/2013/08/28/568919 ... wners.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and a time of 6pm. I called the receptionist at Gene Green's office, she says she is not aware of it and and that the office closes at 5pm.

The actual address is 256 North Sam Houston Parkway East, Suite 29 (per http://green.house.gov/office/houston-north" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

Anybody interested in stopping by around 5pm-6pm? I can bring posterboard and markers.

EDIT: on second thought, trying to get there in rush-hour traffic with such little advance notice sounds like a bad idea. Neeeever miiiiiind...

Thank you for the info. 45 and the Beltway at 6:00? Only if Sheila Jackson Lee is going to be there. I could use a laugh today.

I know a lot of the members of MAIG have been charged with crimes form DWI on up. I wonder what the actual percentages are. It would be nice to point at a protest how more likely they are to commit a crime versus Texas CHL holders. Any body out they know the stats for the mayors?
