Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.
A proper response would have been to say "from society, and that's never going to happen because our 2nd Amendment right is protected by the Constitution.

Rove obviously believes it is possible to repeal the 2nd Amendment (we just need the oomph to do it), and that is not a stance I would support under any circumstances. Any candidate who hired him would obviously believe he was a good advisor, and that calls into judgment that candidate.

Sorry. I stand by what I said.

I agree too. Rove is a sleazy lying treasonous snake. He's also smart. He was floating a trial balloon. The phrasing he used was calculated to provide cover if there was any push back. He's way too smart not to have given an unequivocal endorsement of the RKBA if that's what he intended.
Naahhh...you give him too much credit. He's an idiot and he put his foot in his mouth.
Everything that these washington pundits say and do is entirely on purpose. It is all planned and scripted. They know the questions even before they are asked.

Exactly. It's all theater. The question here, as almost always is the case, was asked for the purpose of eliciting the scripted response. Rove or his people wanted the question asked so it could be answered the way it was, and probably rehearsed it with the interviewer beforehand. Guys like Rove don't go on TV to say things they don't want said. They don't interview at all unless the whole show is scripted.

Unfortunately, a powerful and influential leader among many of the GOP. He has amassed a tremendous amount of money in his PAC and that gets today's politicians' attention.
