In the middle ages it was against the law in many locales to have the common citizen armed. This tends to reinforce the idea of our founding fathers that tyranny can only be resisted by an armed citizenry.

Another "coincidence" is that, for the past two nights, CBS-11 in Houston has aired an item about the open carry movement in Texas immediately after an item about either a shooting or the "Houston-Mexico firearm connection".
Do you suppose they're trying to link open carry with "blood in the streets"?
