The protest has remained peaceful, APD said. Several APD vehicles are following the protesters.
APD Chief Art Acevedo was walking with the crowd.
"We disrupt traffic for all kinds of stuff, festivals, races, everything else," Acevedo said. "I apologize ahead of time, but I'd rather have these young people exercise their rights peacefully."
I always thought parades had permits????
I hope President Trump will get us back to Law and Order.
After protests starting popping up all over the country I now suspect that Hillary's delay in giving her concession speech was to take the time to coordinate with all of the groups that have been misbehaving during the election to continue their work.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Thank you for sharing Casp. I already hated anti-gun rights Acevedo, now he does this. What a real piece of work.

He needs to be removed from office. His idea of law enforcement is similar to James Comey. If they were protesting against something he was for, then they would all be locked up.
Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second
So Acevedo had to ensure the safety of the protestors personally? Welcome to the People's Republic of Austin for those of you unfamiliar with our local politics. I'm proud to say I live outside Austin and Travis County. Williamson County still provides some sanctuary for sanity, however the growth of the metro area is beginning to take a toll.
These kids are 18-20 years old...they were 10-12 years old when Barry took office. They have never in their lives really known what it's like for someone to tell them 'NO'...

Probably, if not they will protest that.
This is more work than they will do the rest of their lives. They are so fearful that they will have to pull their own weight without the government handouts, that its scares them.

The national anthem of the left.: "They are so fearful that they will have to pull their own weight without the government handouts, that its scares them."

I am offended with your remark. You cannot be saying that as I am in my safe space.
And these people are really participating in getting a higher education? What a bunch of coddled ne'er-do-wells...
Blue collar kids have a much more realistic understanding of the world.
I was a blue collar kid. I worked my patootie off as a kid for very low wages. At first. It aint bragging if one did it. Safe spaces and micro aggressions-babble wasn't part of living in the real world. We worked and understood the world owes us nothing. We had to earn what we received. Sound grim? Well, yes, that's the way of the world and has been forever. Nobody owes you squat. Earn, wither, or die. It's up to you. The reward: Feeling proud of actually accomplishing something no one gave you. You earned it. Then you can have a lot. That's part of the "Free Enterprise System". It makes you do your best. It doesn't reward you for existing.
Honestly, once out of school, no one will give you a "participation" award, or provide you a safe space from micro aggression because frankly the world isn't safe space free...you'll come up against micro blah blah everywhere, weenie...it's part of living in the world.
You aren't a special snowflake.
You are (if you're lucky enough to be born healthy) given an opportunity to thrive. (at least in this country)
Throw it away whining you've been mistreated by the "meanies of the world" then I expect you to fail.
Abraham wrote:And these people are really participating in getting a higher education?
No. They're "attending college". Attending college and getting a higher education are no longer the same thing.
"Attending college" these days usually translates into getting advanced libtard indoctrination.
