Why aren't I surprised that a guy named Barack Hussein Obama would oppose a mosque being built anywhere. Is this what is meant by the term "profiling"?

"I think he's right _ I mean you know we're a country that in my view stands for freedom of religion and respect for others," Crist said after the Florida meeting with Obama and other officials. "I know there are sensitivities and I understand them. This is a place where you're supposed to be able to practice your religion without the government telling you you can't."
Agreed 100%. I hope the mosque works out well for these folks.

If by "practicing your religion" you mean killing thousands of innocent Americans, then, yeah, I think the governement CAN tell you that you can't do that.

That Obama has endorsed this just reinforces my opinion of him, and his leadership abilities.

:iagree: If we start going around telling which religion is allowed to open a house of worship in a specific area, the terrorist win. The reason they attacted us is becasue they hate the freedoms that we as a people have. They want us to become a nation of hate that is torn apart by radical religious views, misery loves company. :patriot:

Speaking to a gathering at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Obama said that he believes "Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country."
The muslims reaffirmed all I thought I knew about the muslim religion on 9/11/01. This is just one more point of disagreement between me and the current POTUS.

Are the founders of the Cordoba House (the site in question) associated in any way with the 9/11 attackers other than both claiming to be Muslim?

I dunno', do you?

Are the founders of the Cordoba house associated with the stoning of women, beheadings, suicide bombings in schools, marketplaces, theatres, etc., etc. other than all claiming to be accepted muslim (no caps)rituals?

Oh! Cutting off girls' noses is pretty cool too. That'll teach 'em what love and peace is all about, you betcha'!

Put this back on topic.
11. Off-topic posts/threads: Since they tend to cause the most problems for other boards, our "off-topic" sub-forum is not an "anything goes" area. Absolutely no discussions of religion, immigration/border security, abortion, race matters, or any other hot-button political issues. (Gun-related political issues can be discussed in other areas.)

I have no problems with it. It's 2 city blocks away, it's not being built on the site. In fact, there's not much on that site at all yet after 9 years.

Im not sure anyone would be worried if it was any other brand of worship. Most religions have blood on their hands and most secular societies have blood on their hands.
