Agreed 100%. I hope the mosque works out well for these folks."I think he's right _ I mean you know we're a country that in my view stands for freedom of religion and respect for others," Crist said after the Florida meeting with Obama and other officials. "I know there are sensitivities and I understand them. This is a place where you're supposed to be able to practice your religion without the government telling you you can't."

The muslims reaffirmed all I thought I knew about the muslim religion on 9/11/01. This is just one more point of disagreement between me and the current POTUS.Speaking to a gathering at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Obama said that he believes "Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country."
Are the founders of the Cordoba House (the site in question) associated in any way with the 9/11 attackers other than both claiming to be Muslim?Crossfire wrote:If by "practicing your religion" you mean killing thousands of innocent Americans, then, yeah, I think the governement CAN tell you that you can't do that.

11. Off-topic posts/threads: Since they tend to cause the most problems for other boards, our "off-topic" sub-forum is not an "anything goes" area. Absolutely no discussions of religion, immigration/border security, abortion, race matters, or any other hot-button political issues. (Gun-related political issues can be discussed in other areas.)
