CNN is just amazing

Watching CNN at doctors office. They are speculating as to where and how the bomb suspects obtained their weapons, of which "were a long gun and other weapons. Did the get them abroad or domestically?" Here is another cry for deeper background checks. Now, I'm a humble person, very simple country boy, but if a tip from the Russians to the FBI with concerns about the older brother didn't allow them to find enough info to worry and close the case, what would a background check at Academy do? :tiphat:

There you go again applying reason and logic where it does not belong nor is it wanted.

The typical liberal mantra. Repeat it often enough, and people will start to believe it, even if it really has no logical basis....

I took anygunanywhere's comment as a heavy dose of sarcasm just as I did yours.

The more I hear about the story from other sources (other than American "mainstream" media) the more this whole thing stinks of coverup by the Obama administration. No, I'm not seeing black helicopters flying around, but there are just too many things that just don't add up. I DO NOT trust the American media any more; they are nothing but media spokespeople for Obama (what I and others are calling co-conspirators). This is the PERFECT setup for more anti-gun legislation. The latest that I heard was that the bombs were made out of gunpowder, and that a Senator (Luger, maybe?) asked "How does just anybody go into a store and buy gunpowder?"
Get ready; "We need to regulate gunpowder. If somebody wants to buy gunpowder they will need to register and wait for their name to be cleared". If they can't grab our guns, they will make them useless.

Limiting access to gunpowder is already being proposed. From another thread here:

You mean like the fact that the FBI piddled around for several days asking people to help identify the bombers when they had a prime suspect that they had investigated before? Why isn't the media asking why he wasn't the first guy they arrested? (well, we know the answer though, don't we). I read a comment from a supposed insider last week, on Tuesday I think, that a guy in his teens would be arrested on Friday, that they'd find guns and gunpowder in his residence, and that there would be a move to restrict gunpowder using the bombing as pretext. The only part of the prediction that hasn't yet been validated is the claim they would connect him to the NRA.

Now it's being reported that they did not have a permit to carry weapons in Massachusetts. OMG! How dare they carry a weapon without a permit?

As if they really cared about legality! What a joke.

I wonder if they had a magazine that could have more than 7 rounds? DiFi will be angry if he did. And you don't want DiFi or Nancy mad at you. Lord knows what will happen next.
