CHL valid voter ID

#1

Post by jerry_r60 »

I just read our town news and it had a reminder about voter ID requirements. I saw that CHL was in there as a valid form. It would certainly not be the form I would choose to use, DL works just fine, no need to advertise but, it's nice to see that it's recognized for this purpose as valid ID.

From the newsletter
"As a reminder, all personal appearance voters within the State of Texas, including Flower Mound residents, will now be required, by law, to present one form of photo identification when voting in-person. Acceptable forms of identification for residents include a valid Texas drivers' license, Texas Election Identification Certificate, Texas personal identification card, Texas concealed handgun license, U.S. military identification card, U.S. citizenship certificate, or a U.S. passport. All identification cards must be current, or have expired within 60 days before being presented for voter qualification at the polling location."

Hmm... wonder if using your CHL as ID would prompt them to look real closely and see if they can tell whether or not you remembered to disarm before entering a polling place. :biggrinjester:

I don't think you have to have a driver's license to have a CHL.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...
