Colorado Lawmaker Quits Over Gun Control

On page A6 of Today's Wall Street Journal there is an Article that Colorado State Senator Evie Hudak (D) resigned, as pro second amendment groups were about to submit their petition for a recall election. I think we can reasonabley expect that she would have been successfully recalled in the election. The Governor now gets to select here replacement.

Although I'm encouraged that we were able to oust another anti-gun politician over the anti-gun Colorado legislation, it is dismaying that by her cowardly resigning that the Democrats can narrowly maintain their Democrat and anti-gun Senatorial majority in Colorado by 18-17.

Looking for the reactions of the forum members to this development in Colorado and your thoughts.

A Republican under a Republican governor would have done the same thing.

Unless I am reading the article incorrectly because she resigned they must choose another DEMOCRAT to replace her.

She "resigned" so the Democrats can name her successor.

There is a wrinkle in the Colorado law that she can rescind her "resignation" under some circumstances, so the opponents need to keep qualifying the recall until it is final.

IOW, it's a trick.
