Karl Rove: Only Way To Stop The Violence Is To Repeal Second Amendment
Anyone who uses him in their campaign has automatically lost my vote.

I think this is taken out of context. I don't think he is suggesting this would be preferable, just that it's the only way you could LEGALLY disarm the population. And of course it WOULDN'T remove guns from the law breakers, only the law abiding.
Really we just need to ban murder..... (Oh, right we already did...
). I think we need to repeal the first amendment too so we can stop all this hate speech.

Yeah, I agree. And the people who don't like him (purposely, I believe) misinterpreted what he was saying.

I don't think I misinterpreted what he said.
Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.
A proper response would have been to say "from society, and that's never going to happen because our 2nd Amendment right is protected by the Constitution.
Rove obviously believes it is possible to repeal the 2nd Amendment (we just need the oomph to do it), and that is not a stance I would support under any circumstances. Any candidate who hired him would obviously believe he was a good advisor, and that calls into judgment that candidate.
Sorry. I stand by what I said.

This was spoken, not written. When I heard it, it sounded to me as, "...somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment. That’s not going to happen."
Changes the meaning.

wow, how ironic .... I placed the following in the "Crime Blotter" thread with the same topic being somewhat a hijack of the thread. I'm going to put that response here and delete it from the other thread that appeared to be somewhat of a hijack from the actual subject ....
Rove was backpeddling it tonight on FOX, but for some strange reason I just don't trust him. He's all about party power, at any/all cost, with little regard for the Constitution or the actual good of the USA as a whole.
If we, as a strong 2A society/brotherhood, want to retain and improve our Second Amendment "rights", we need to unseat the power driven Rove cronies and replace every one of them with stronger constitutional conservatives (that also believe in term limits .... like so many of the "Freshman Class" in the Gingrich Revolution of the 90's).
Just my opinion on that particular thought.

The fact that he even suggested the repealing of the 2 A in whatever context it was intended was in poor judgement at best and will be looked upon as a challenge by the antis. Although they are already trying their best to strip us of our rights we don't need any inflammatory or encouraging language to bolster support for their idiotic agenda.
Karl Rove and GOP in general shut up already! If you cant say the right thing then dont say anything. Quit falling into the left's traps by answering leading questions the way they want you to. Instead you control the conversation.

I have only seen the text of the quote but not heard it. FWIW, it sounds like it was an attempt at sarcasm. Not the best topic to try that with since he knows those words will be used against a cause one would expect him to support.

I agree too. Rove is a sleazy lying treasonous snake. He's also smart. He was floating a trial balloon. The phrasing he used was calculated to provide cover if there was any push back. He's way too smart not to have given an unequivocal endorsement of the RKBA if that's what he intended.

Naahhh...you give him too much credit. He's an idiot and he put his foot in his mouth.
