Obama Executive Action Soon

Chance favors the prepared. Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless.
There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away.
Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

weird read
but the thought of NOW we don't report "missing" firearms seems DUMB
if i was expecting a shipment to my store and it "failed to arrive"..one would think these serial numbers and type of weapons are reported to the ATF, by the selling party.

just to cover the backsides

Here is the true impact of the "gun problem".

There are 312 million people in the US.

According to the CDC, there are roughly 32,000 deaths a year in the US and declining from Gun Violence.

This means you have a 0.00010256410256410300% chance of death by gun.

Let's break those numbers down:

60% are suicides. That's 19,200
3% are accidental. That's 960
4% are justified. That's 1,280
33% are homicides. That's 10,560
80% of homicides are gang related. That's 8,448

That leaves 1,712 in a society of 312 million people.

If you don't hang out in the hood, are not planning to commit a crime, and if you do not plan on committing suicide, that chance drops to 0.00000548717948717949%

America DOES NOT have a gun problem.

I haven't double checked the math or stats but I wholeheartedly agree. We do not have a gun problem.

We have a lack of respect for others and the law problem. Some in our country value human life no more than those in third world undeveloped countries.

Question? How will this affect our gun deals between each other? I don't buy and sale a lot, but probably more than some.

Gee, silly me. I thought we already had a legislative branch of government to create laws for us. Who knew? :headscratch

Seriously, I think we all know these new measures will not prevent a single death. So what is their goal? Never mind. I think we all know the answer to that as well.

What I don't know is exactly what we do about preventing them from reaching their true goal.

It's all just another example of a weak, incompetent, and immature president who thought he was going to be king, until reality set in. Our Constitution is much stronger than Obama thought, it has stood the test of time so far, and this joke of a commander in chief is not going to weaken it. I worry far more about what state governments can do to our right to keep and bear arms, as they are the ones who really have the power to restrict gun rights in their respective states. And I thank the Lord that I grew up and live in Texas, where the voters make sure we keep leaders who respect the rights of the people. :txflag: :patriot:

So sad to read such things here. We agree that there are hundreds or thousands (!!!) of deaths which could be avoided - parents, children or grand-parents. And you honestly want to argue that there is no problem?!? Every single one of them is a tragedy on its own!

I have lived in the US for quite some time - and reading that makes me very sad. I am afraid you guys have a VERY SERIOUS gun problem...

Not me. I have plenty. The only time anyone has a gun problem is when they don't have one. Happy new year!

In another post you stated you were in Europe, which is it? Inanimate objects can't cause a problem without human intervention.

Okay, which is it? You have two posts, one claiming you lived here in the past, now this one indicating you live here now. Which is it?
