The truly amazing part of that article is that it was put out by the Dallas Morning News.

I was born and raised in Massachusetts, The history of minutemen and the raising of an armed rebellion against tyranny is understood by every school child. The state that I grew up in was pretty much gun friendly, much more so than Texas at the time. Today they brag that imprison people for just owning a magazine to big or a non state aproved gun. They forgot who they are and where they came from. It was the Massachussetts leftist icon that made the big pronouncement,"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."
Never forget, never let them forget that we demand the right to be armed and the right to defend ourselves from evil people and evil reigns of oppressors or invaders.

I'd vote for Patterson to replace Cruz after Cruz becomes a SCOTUS Justice.

I notice the Texas constitution had similar wording as the Missouri one once did regarding the wearing of concealed firearms.
Texas had a long, hard fight to get concealed carry passed.
Is there anything in the works to take that wording out of the constitution regarding the regulating of wearing firearms? Missouri did via a constitutional amendment in 2014 that removed it and strengthened the right to bear arms. Passing that in Texas could possibly lead to permit less concealed carry via the TX Supreme Court if you can't get TX lawmakers to pass it on their own.
