From Blue Shirts to Brown
https://off-guardian.org/2020/09/16/fro ... -to-brown/
“On at least 3 or 4 occasions in the past week we’ve had to smash the windows of people in cars and pull them out of there so they could provide their details – because they weren’t telling us where they were going; they weren’t adhering to the chief health officer’s guidelines, they weren’t providing their name and their address.”
Shane Patton, Victorian Chief Police Officer 04/08/2020
A scientific dictatorship

Many medical practitioners are aware that Victoria’s management of the SARS CoV-2 pandemic is based on highly selective medical advice which doesn’t stand up to serious scientific scrutiny.
Scientific dictatorship...excellent description of coronavirus tyranny.

not sure what concerns me most,

# the fact that this is even happening in a 'democracy'

or

# the likelihood that there may be people in this country who don't see a problem with these draconian abuses of power

The second question is the scary one! A. The Overlords don't realize they are abusing their power B. The minions that don't recognize they are being abused!
Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
Government, like fire is a dangerous servant and a fearful master
If you ain't paranoid you ain't paying attention

I read some postings by Australians on a similar story that happened a few weeks back. They all said that stuff is happening in Victoria, and not in the majority of the country. Must be the Aussie equivalent of New York and California, combined.

EDITED TO ADD (from the Wikipedia article on Victoria):
Victorians, and Melburnians in particular, are considered by some analysts to be more progressive than other Australians.[55] The state recorded the highest Yes votes of any state in the republic referendum and same-sex marriage survey. Victorians are said to be "generally socially progressive, supportive of multiculturalism, wary of extremes of any kind".[56]

Premier Daniel Andrews leads the Australian Labor Party that won the November 2014 Victorian state election.
I guess those "extremes" don't include draconian governmental powers.
