Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
Knowing that you might some day have to actually fire your weapon for self-defense or for the defense of others, do you carry a cell phone with you when you are armed in order to call 911/attorney/family after a shooting incident?
And another question (sorry,I couldn't figure out how to get two questions in one poll ), I would assume that most people who do carry a phone would call 911 first after an incident. But who would you call next, if anyone? Attorney? Family member? Pastor? Bail bondsman?
Just curious.

I would call my cousin Guido from New Jersey to recommend a good "cleaner", then I would call Saul Goodman from 'Better Call Saul'...then the Bail Bond company, and only then the police.

Ashamed to admit it, but my phone is an always, and my pistol is a usually... but I am also involved with the local high school, so can't carry when working the concession stands or being a chaperon.
Re: Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
I haven't received my card yet but I don't see a reason I would not carry a phone.
My second call would be to my wife or close friend. Someone that I could trust and who would make good decisions. I think after an incident like this I would not be in a good state of mind to always make a good decision.

The only time I don't have a phone either on me or within reach is when mowing or in the shower because I can't hear it or feel it vibrate when mowing and showering is obvious. Carry gun whenever legal/possible.

Wife gets grumpy if I leave the house without the phone. I get away with leaving it at home sometimes when I''m lucky.

I travel overseas a lot, so I don't always have the luxury of keeping my handgun with me. My phone is a more constant companion than is my Sig.

Statistically, I would suggest that the phone be carried before the pistol. The phone can grant access to a plethora of resources we might any given day. Pistol is important, not taking away from that.

Re: Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
I always carry a phone because I am on 24/7 call for my job. I hate having a phone all the time and when I retire I am going to get a landline and an answering machine.
It seems like only a few years ago we were not expected to be in constant contact with our employers, spouses, kids, and so on. "Leave a message and I will get back to you" seems so foreign. So when I leave this job I am trashing the iphone and if I am ever in a shooting or emergency situation I will ask one of the dozen kids standing around recording it on their cell phone to call the cops for me.

karder,
I applaud your future resolve.
Few NEED an I-phone - granted a FEW do, but not most.
Many think without a smart phone they'd be lost. They're wrong. They're addicted to them. It's an illness.

Re: Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
Same with me, except I will probably still carry my cell because pay phones are nonexistent now days and may need in case of help. Will probably change my number and give it out a whole lot less though when retired.karder wrote:I always carry a phone because I am on 24/7 call for my job. Re: Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
I said "always" but the fact is, even if I forget my phone at home (happens once in a while), I still have a pistol with me.

Re: Do You ALWAYS Carry...... a Phone?
I always carry a phone, and would regardless of carrying a gun or not. Not only do I want to be able to call for help, I want certain other people, like my wife, to be able to reach me if they need help.
