Welcome to the waiting room. They are definitely busy and you are at the end of the line pretty much. I'm not sure I'd recommend calling in after 8 days to get a status update. Might be a good way to get your app temporarily lost for a few months. Best of luck.

You're probably looking at mid April, though possibly longer. Some have been waiting over two months so it isn't uncommon at all.

In the meantime, carry around your house as much as possible. It definitely helps you to get comfortable quicker, it at least it did in my case.

One last word of advice: Patience. As long as everything is to rights your license will get to you.

Be patient. Get a good holster. Get used to carrying around the house. It'll happen in good time.
Do what you say you're gonna do.

I hope there is a bit of wry humor and sarcasm in your impatience because I think you're in for a 45 to 60 day wait... at least.

It appears they (RSD) got way more apps in December than November, just because you really don't hear of any applicate who received their license in 2-3 weeks like some from October & November, IMO, just my thoughts based on this forum & mine over 60 days now. :cryin

There is lol i knew it was going to be a while I have already bought a holster to use and i do carry around my house often when im out back and working in the yard they told me 8 weeks which my birthday is april 8th so im hoping on my birthday would be a great present to me lol. But since i have my commissioned license from private security im hoping my background check wont take that long or any of that it would be nice to carry away from work lol

A total wait of 7 to 8 weeks looks accurate. Watch the other posts, and you can track where they are. Looks like they're now on the apps submitted in late December. Somebody who submitted 12/23 just received their card this Wednesday. I had my submission complete on 1/5, and figure I'll get mine in the next week or two (hopefully). You can aggravate yourself by checking every day or two and seeing nothing.

I hope you're patient. I'm at day 60 since my confirmation email and still can't get a straight answer from RDS/DPS. "Could be another 2-4 weeks" is what they told me this morning. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not necessarily...I have a submittal date of 12/22 and a confirmation date of 12/28. I called yesterday and was told I was "Wayyyy too early". Yet some who have later confirmation dates than me already have their cards...... Go figure, its a crapshoot.

Called dps to make sure they got all my documents nice lady named katy said "Yes sir all you documents have been submitted successful and prints have been processed as well we are moving your application to background please wait 2-4 weeks until that is complete" Which in my mind i had her say it twice to double check so maybe they are moving kinda of fast now??? any insights guys.... do you think she wasnt looking at the correctly or what?

I'm in week 9nand wish I could get Katy on the phone. I tried calling and sent an email late last week just to make sure everything was received okay. On the phone I got recording saying they're too busy to talk and no reply to email.
