Celebrities to wear anti gun bracelets at the Oscars...
I can only imagine the conversation at the Oscars tonight.
"Hey, you wearing your bracelet? Yeah, me too, aren't they cool?"
Said to one another while surrounded by armed security! Pathetic!

This is exactly what I was talking about in the UT thread - Leave the politics out of it.
Why can't the Oscars just be about the best films like they are supposed to be?

If I was security I wouldn't save anyone wearing those. Don't want to offend their sensibilities by using a gun near them.

Does anybody even watch the Oscars or other award shows anymore? I remember in the 90's people would have party's at their house to watch these.

It's on tonight? Oh well I guess since I haven't watched it in the last 20 years I probably won't miss much.

Because its no longer about the Oscars and the performance. Its all now a big club of self congratulating narcissists. Its all about what they and their friends think of themselves. It more important to show you they "feel" for a cause then to actually do something. Disgusts me to no end I have bee working on a fiction book set at the Oscars. Bad guy takes all of the actors and actresses in the building hostage and forces them all to pay a ransom. Can't figure out how to end it yet because every which way I go I end up wanting the bad guy to win!!!WildBill wrote:This is exactly what I was talking about in the UT thread - Leave the politics out of it.

Oscars? My wife has The Walking Dead on. Plenty of pro gun people shooting zombies.

Anti-gun PC clowns. I prefer a flak jacket over a wrist band, but to each their own.

My wife watched about 30 minutes of it and when she came into the room I was watching tv in, she sits down and says "I know about the bracelets but this is a very racial show. Almost everyone of them comment something about another race, mostly blacks".
Now, I do not consider myself a racist, but there are places race and politics should not be discussed and I feel a nationally televised award show is one of those places. Made me start thinking about the Dixie Chicks again.

I was persuaded to watch the whole show by SWMBO.RPBrown wrote:My wife watched about 30 minutes of it and when she came into the room I was watching tv in, she sits down and says "I know about the bracelets but this is a very racial show. It's all about liberal political issues, and thanking every person the winner ever met. This year, the lack of Black nominees was a hot topic for the Black host, and Leo Dicaprio chimed in on climate change. The good news is that he promised it will be getting warmer, which will be nice since it's a bit too cold for my taste. Oh, we also have no real problems whatsoever in this world, since the weather is "the most important issue we face". All good things!
