Agreed. ^^^^^^^^^jed wrote:Why do people keep saying that no one in congress likes Cruz and he can't get along with others in congress? I don't envy ANY of the candidates, since these days...something you said in the 5th grade will be brought up in an effort to discredit you.
Provided someone hasn't changed their position....for political expediency only, then I'm fine with it. Actually,it shows maturity and hopefully, intellectual honesty.
We get it, you don't like Trump.
It's obvious you missed my point. The whole point is that Trump changes for "politically expediency".

I do too and that is what I was trying to say, I'm not the wordsmith like so many on here. I wish the Trump followers would view Cruz the same.mojo84 wrote:jed wrote:Why do people keep saying that no one in congress likes Cruz and he can't get along with others in congress? I trust you realize I consider Cruz's lack of love from his colleagues a huge plus in his favor for me.

Re: Ted Cruz A Texas
Cruz is the only candidate that has a proven record of doing exactly what he said he would do when the people of Texas elected him to the Senate. Even David Dewhurst recently said that for Cruz, "It is all about the Constitution".
The fact is, this election is all about the Constitution and people need to realize that the US Constitution could cease to exist in any viable form if the wrong people are elected this November.
People don't believe that Storm Troopers could ever come down their street and pull dissenters out and execute them in broad daylight here in the US. Well the only thing standing in their way is the Constitution and people's willingness to defend it at any cost.
Throughout history, all populations that have lived under oppressive governments have all had one thing in common, they have all wondered how their society got to a point where such people could attain and retain power. Tyranny can occur anywhere that people do not constantly pay attention and actively defend the rule of law and their God given rights.
The time for truth is now.

No, I've not 'missed' your point. You seem to have a poisoned view of Trump and as such....any and everything he says will be suspect to you. I think....you think you know more about his motives than the man himself? I'm not a Trump supporter either (Cruz happens to be my pick), but I won't summarily condemn him for simply changing his mind on a subject. You are free to do so...of course.mojo84 wrote:flintknapper wrote:You know there is really nothing wrong with a person 'sincerely' changing their mind or position on a subject. Many of us, generation zero immigrants to this Country who have one foot in the old and one in the new world want to see the Country that we came to LEGALLY, prosper.
For me, the number 1 issue is Borders/National Security. I want the darn Wall up and Trump is the ONLY one that I trust can deliver on this.
I want the murderous maniacs ISIS and their ilk smashed to the Stone Age where they belong.
Here again, Trump is for me the candidate who can and who will deliver.
Second is our Economy, which by the way was wrecked not only by BO, but by GW during the last few months of his reign.
Who is better in matters concerning money then Trump? He fall on his tail so many times BUT each time emerged stronger, better, wiser, AND richer! Trump employs thousands of people worldwide, has built buildings, neighborhoods, resorts and golf courses across the globe. You think you can get any schmendrick with millions to do that successfully? No. Trump can and he did.
AFTER points 1 and 2 above, everything else is behind for me.
Yes I oppose abortion.
Yes I oppose Socialized Healthcare.
Yes I oppose same sex marriage.
.
.
.
BUT, without National Identity and our borders secured, with ISIS growing, and with our economy crumbling, all else takes a back seat for me, right here and right now.
And Cruz supporting TPA/TPP? Well my conservative friends, what the heck?
"In April of 2015 Senator Ted Cruz and House Ways and Means Chairman, Representative Paul Ryan, supported TPA being added to HR2146. Their support was most notable when they posted the following Op-Ed which appeared in the Wall Street Journal on April 22nd"
"On June 29th Obama signed it and HR2146 became law.
Senator Ted Cruz voted for Cloture on TPA Fast track trade authority removing the hurdle and concern of further amendments and clearing the way for passage. Again, like “unanimous consent” cloture votes are not recorded roll call votes. Thereby Ted Cruz could obfuscate his support. He figured to hide, see how that works?
However, Cruz advocacy could not be hidden entirely. On another bill HR 1314 Cruz voted against an amendment to the Trade Deal that would require congress to be consulted if China (or other nations) were to join after the fact:
Senate Amendment 1251 “To require the approval of Congress before additional countries may join the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement”…"

That was a poison pill amendment that was added to kill the bill. Very similar to what some tried to do with open carry in the Texas legislature.
Sometimes bills need to be forced to a vote in order to kill it.

Re: Ted Cruz A Texas
So by his Nay vote, Cruz essentially gave an ok for Congress not to be consulted on matters concerning other Countries joining TPP, like China as an example.mojo84 wrote:parabelum wrote:Many of us, generation zero immigrants to this Country who have one foot in the old and one in the new world want to see the Country that we came to LEGALLY, prosper.

I apologize. The poison pill response I gave here was a response I intended to give in another discussion on another forum. I'm having to use my wife's old phone because mine is in for repair and I didn't realize I was on the wrong forum.
As far as TPP and TPA, he explained his reasoning in the video. I'll let his words and actions represent him just like I have Trump with his words and actions.
Like you said, no one is 100% perfect. I don't think there is anyone I or any is going to agree with 100% of the time. He may dead wrong on this.

Why then, if you bring up things that Trump said in the past that "prove" your point don't you also juxtapose those with things that he said and things that he signed off that would "disprove" your point?
Seems that for some, nothing that Trump could ever say or do now is enough.
When he gets endorsements from prominent conservative Senator, it's no big deal. Probably just that Sessions sold out, an indirect hit on a Patriot who fought hard all his life for conservative values.
When Sherrif Joe, Palin, Jerry Fawlell, National Black Republican association and others endorse him, it's also a shady deal by Trump, right?
When he submitted his financials on time and with accuracy, that was also because Trump is shady man, likely rigged that one too.
When he raised MILLIONS in one day for our Veterans, it was just political expediency on Trump's end, nothing more.
When he raised 1.6 million more for Veterans, that was also just for greed and profit, political expediency.
When he donated to Children Hospitals , raised money for LE, organized money to bring our Veteran who was locked up in Mexico to bring him home after BO left him there to rot, that too was just out of his greed and hunger for political expediency.
On the other side, Cruz and his link to GS and other Banks thru his wife is no biggie. Those contributions are all clean and upright.
Cruz lying to Iowans about Dr. Carson, a fine man, that was just a mistake by one of his operatives.
Cruz repeating lies about Trump, like this:
"The one person Donald has pointed to as a potential Supreme Court nominee is his sister. Now it’s good to stand with your sister, but Donald’s sister was a Bill Clinton-appointed federal appellate judge who is a radical pro-abortion extremist.”
But wait:
" Maryanne Trump Barry is not a Radical Pro-Abortion Extremist. Cruz was falsely reporting the facts of the case, Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey v. Farmer, that was decided by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2000. Maryanne did write the majority opinion, 3-3 decision, with concurrence by THE CURRENT CONSERVATIVE SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SAMUEL ALITO! "
https://savernation.wordpress.com/2016/ ... nne-barry/
You know who appointed his sister? That's right, Ronald Reagan!
How about Chief Justice Roberts who gave us ObamaCare among other things. Guess who vetted and was directly involved in his nomination? Yes, Cruz.
We can go ad nauseum on this. Point is, my head is not in the sand. I disagree with Trump on many issues, but as it stands now, he will be our nominee, and I stand with him.
Cruz may win Texas and maybe couple more states. That's it.
If you want Hilary in there, just keep doing DNC's bidding and dismantle Trump some more.
You think Trump is bad? Just wait till Billy gets back in , God forbid.

You are 100% correct. At the end of the day, we are all passionate and eager to get that thing out of WH. At least I could carry desert eagle IWB now with my awesome physique
