DPS Adding Staff
Heard on the news this morning that the DPS is adding more staff to help process LTC applications. It's about time....
Re: DPS Adding Staff
How long is training and when will they start is the question.

Re: DPS Adding Staff
DPS is adding more people to the LTC division, but they are having to pull them from three other divisions. They cannot simply hire more people because the money simply isn't in the budget. This means those other three divisions are going to be forced to operate understaffed. When the 2017 legislative session begins, I'll be issuing calls-to-action seeking more funding for DPS for LTC operations.

Re: DPS Adding Staff
If the application volume has picked up that dramatically, at $140 per app they are bringing in way more than enough to pay for some help. I assume they didn't have the revenue upside in their budget either, so at the bottom line, even adding a modest level of help would still flow through profitably.
I'd stick another chunk of change into the next budget to upgrade the website and create an IVR phone system to better field calls. I recall the few times I had to reach out to them I was less than impressed, even for a government agency.
