We are using these at Texas Tactical. They are really thin. Wind is much more a problem than with others. We still use cardboard in the rain.

I too gave up on them and went with the cardboard ones from Lighthouse for the Blind out of Ft. Worth. The paper ones just do not hold up to any kind of wind, even with a solid backer.

Do you remember the price for those? I checked the LftB web site but you have to call for pricing. They did have a Texas CHL Instructor Pack - 50 Cardboard Silhouette Targets and ships anywhere within the state of Texas for $62.50 + Tax, so that's $1.25 each but is that the regular price?

I usually order 2 of the Instructor's Pack so I don't know about other quantities. They're a buck more than paper targets but well worth it to avoid the hassle of targets ripping and blowing off during qualifications or constantly having to replace backer boards.

These are the same ones the DPS uses or at least they were when I qualified.

That's a pretty good deal. I've been buying the cardboard B27s from Amazon at $39 for 25 (free shipping w/Prime).

Yes, the ones from January are LftB targets.

I like the frames they were using, simple wood frame, but they added the plastic pieces used as hold downs themselves. I've been researching it, looks like some sort of corner reinforcement, but haven't found one that looks like it'll work.

Lighthouse for the Blind is local for me, so when I need to stock up I just pile in the van and go and get 100 targets from them. Besides... they're good folks to support!

I also use the Lighthouse cardboard, but at 23 cents, I had to get some! There are times where these would be used, weather dependent!

I really enjoy making my own splatter targets. I start with poster board either white or yellow. I lay strips of clear packing tape over the board. I then cut in 4 pieces and spray with flat black. Then I put the target spots on that I got from Academy. Cost per target is less than 30 cents for the 11" x 14" size. These are highly visible at 21'.

Just got a quote from Shiloh .06 page. Makes the new CHL-16 (March 2016) $504.00 for 100 @ 84 pages and that includes 3 hole punch. Double sided full size. No fold and staple. FOB his door.

Most of the time I just buy cheap paper plates at 100-200 for a couple of dollars. I get big ones and small ones to change things up a bit. I have some full size silhouettes and usually save those for the 50,100, and 200 yard ranges for rifles. I have also forgotten my stapler so many times that I went to reusable thumb tacks a couple of years ago. I bought one package of 100 and still have most of them. I have shot a few.

I totally agree with the idea of buying cheap paper plates as training targets. Obviously, you can't use them for LTC proficiency test, but for building various shooting skills they are excellent and very cheap. I carry a bunch of them in my range bag at all times.
